This time of year with kids in school, we are constantly on the defensive trying not to get whatever bug is floating around. Who doesn’t dread the note home from school stating that there have been “X number of students out with X bug” – only to find out from your kid that half of those kids’ desks are near or next to theirs!?
How do you fight this never ending battle?!
Over the years I’ve tried a number of immune support supplements (on advice from my kid’s pediatrician, of course), but I have only seen results from one – Elderberry. We’ve tried concentrated Elderberry syrups mixed into juice. We’ve tried Elderberry gummies. We’ve tried Elderberry lozenges. We’ve tried name brands, store brands, organic brands, etc…You name it, we’ve tried it. All of them have done the trick, so now as soon as school starts in the Fall, we start everyone on the Elderberry!
One Winter, we ran out and could not find any sort of Elderberry supplement in any of our local stores and found that our favorite product was not in stock online anywhere. To say that we panicked would be an understatement! But also, the secret must’ve gotten out about this stuff! Right?!
So, outside of the standard Winter health practices of things like washing hands, keeping things away from our faces, eating healthy, staying active, and dressing appropriately for the weather – we have found that supplementing our regular routine with Elderberry, in whatever form you choose, is what works for our family to stay well! After all, we need to stay on top of our game so we can enjoy all the snow that we hope we get each year – kinda like Snowmageddon 2018.
